Recession palava

You remember the saying that a Hungry man is an Angry man. The recession has turned so many people's name to frustration and they act weird this days. Many are hungry and angry together, any opportunity they have to release/ vent the frustration is not going to be a nice sight and i'm sure you won't want to be the sacrificial lamb.
proverbs-22-728
picture from google

Going home yesterday was funny as the bus driver i entered was such an angry man, i gave him #500 and collected  #200 from the 2 passengers beside me then waited for this man to pass my remaining #200 but he refused till we got to our destination and he merged me with another man to start sorting ourselves. Then i told him where will i get change tro give the other man that he should just sort it out, holy God! this guy started ranting and the abuse started, i returned some then i noticed people had started gathering then remembered the post my uncle sent that we should be careful of fighting and word exchange with strangers so i picked my race.
This morning while coming to the office, the bus stopped at a bus top and told the passengers the fare is #150, this man entered and when it was time to pay he brought out #100 and the driver refused it that it was because of that man in particular he was screaming because he had pulled out that same stunt some days ago. This other man started shouting, abusing and cursing the driver, and i wondered if he was actually planning for the driver before, it was just some minutes to 5:00am and someone could be that bitter.
Please be careful how you deal with people this days especially strangers and Danfo drivers with their conductor. A photo went viral last week of a man that his car was bashed, he came out of his car and he tried chasing the driver, the conductor pushed him and an oncoming vehicle hit him so he died instantly, please lets watch who we drag word and issue with, some bloods are actually hot this period.
Stay careful and trouble-free as we await a new nation/economy/era

RECESSION = ANGER

Remember that saying that a Hungry man is an angry man, don't pick up fight with strangers especially Danfo drivers and conductors. This vlog is my experience with a driver.

What #5 can possibly not buy again

5naira-new.jpg
My early days/years in Primary school, #5 was such a big deal and the likes of me can't even take such money to school. You must have come from a big house to hold #5 then and you get to show off with it but not any more. Recently i was given 2 #5 note as change in the market and it looked like i've never seen it, i can't remember the last time i saw that note. I had to ask the woman if its still in circulation before it turns to the likes of the  money kept by my grandma's then to show us as we grow up( old currency).
Things are really expensive now and you can hardly get anything for #5 hence the scarcity of that note. The funniest part is anything that has that value in it you have to buy 2 because you might not get a change of #5. The #35 naira noodles is sold as 2 for#70 and the #25 egg is just automatically 2 for #50. Hardly will you enter a store and see any item tagged with #5.
Here are list of those item that use to be #5 but not any longer.
  • Sachet water
  • Biscuit
  • Tied Sugar
  • Ground nut
  • Tom tom
  • Matches
  • Baba Dudu
  • Bitter cola
  • Chewing stick
  • Maggi
  • Choba
  • Locust bean
  • Chewing gum
  • Sisi pelebe
  • Kuli kuli
  • Donkwa
  • Local Ice cream
  • Blade
  • Lolipop
Kindly add yours as it comes to mind. I will continue to update the post as soon as other item joins the bandwagon.

Living for God

unnamedI swapped my phone with my husband and because I know it’s more expensive and sophisticated than mine, the care is absolutely different and I guard it jealously. The truth is my phone would have fallen from somewhere but with this no, I make sure it’s not close anywhere it can fall, neither will I stand up without checking if it’s on my laps.
It’s same with our life because it’s not ours, we do not have power over it and so we need to guard it jealously. Live the life as if it’s going to be taken back tomorrow.
I’m sure if a lot of us were told we will die tomorrow/ rapture we will do so many things to enter the kingdom of God. I know I will surely ask for forgiveness, be kind to people, be humble and guard that I do not commit any sin till then.  So why can’t we live this lifestyle on a daily basis because we don’t know what will happen the next minute from now.
We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us. The truth is no matter how well we enjoyed in this world, it can’t stand near the one that is waiting for us in heaven. How painful will it be for us to live in duplex and water bed on earth for just 1- 150years then suffer in eternity or even suffer and struggle on earth and suffer again in the world after.
Is what you are living for worth Christ dying for? Christ died that we may live and have life in abundant. I’m sure my husband will take back his phone if I’m careless with it, he won’t watch the phone spoil in a matter of weeks, but our God is not like that, he gives us second chance and opportunity to repent. He gives hope for our tomorrow.
*Oh spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me, please melt me, mould me, fill me and use me for your kingdom project.

Race of Life

&NCS_modified=20130820152833&MaxW=640&imageVersion=default&AR-306109927I was about crossing the express but the cars refused to stop but I could also rushed in between them and make a pass, but I noticed about 100meters behind there was no vehicle and I could just take my time to cross the road instead of turning to Usain Bolt which I gladly crossed catwalking.
Many at times we just keep running, we want to keep moving to the point of losing focus. Its not a bad idea to move but the pace at which we move matters. Don’t run when you are still learning to walk because you will fall and you are likely to get hurt.e98a69b265bd2a409c4b7f23c2d8cac9
A lot of businesses, Marriage, Education, Lives are spoilt because we keep running. Some people start business because they have an idea of what their boss does but many at times doesn’t even know half then the challenge will come without knowing how to solve it. Is it even your passion?  Well its bringing in money so I can do it is what many will say.
Many get married because they are the only spinster/bachelor left in the committee of friend, without carefully and prayerfully study the spouse. Many wants the big wedding on Bellanaija and they want to get featured too. Is this guy/lady good for me should be the question, can I actually cope with him? But many at times we believe we can cope which may not even be possible. Because you are the last doesn’t mean you won’t get there.
Education: I’ve seen parents that wants double promotion for their kids because their friend’s children are in upper class, please calm down. Can your child perform better, how is he coping in that present class he is, how can you make him do better should be your interest and not competing with other children. Some pick a course because others/ friends does and many parents also command the future of the children, you must go Law, Medicine, Accountancy etc please let this children decide for themselves.
Self study, self evaluation should be done in running the race of life. Carefully study yourself, discover who you are, your passions and interest and I believe this can help you keep focus. You don’t need to pull people down on your way to the top as the sky is big enough for all to fly.
Many run the race with no idea of the destination, always remember everything has been predestined. Don’t move faster than your destiny hence you will have to wait in future. There’s no competition in the race of live, we all have different destination and different exams. Do yours and let others do theirs.
Remember life is not a race but a journey, ride smoothly and enjoy the ride.

Must do during Leave

annual-leave
I just resumed back from my annual leave and i can tell its sure a wonderful and a restful experience. so i thought of making a post about my leave experience and below are the must do things while on leave.
  1. Rest well: What better time do you have to rest than your leave, please do have a pleasant rest during this period. Relax your body, soul and mind. Think less about work and reduce your worry, get the tension out of you.
  2. Eat healthy: You have all the time to cook, visit and shop, and so you are prone to eat more, its of benefit you eat healthy at this time, watch all that goes into your mouth. I'm sure you wont want your employer to enlarge the frame of your office door when you returned.
  3. Sleep healthy: This period gives you opportunity to sleep all day long but it has to be healthy. Good sleep sharpens your attention and make you energetic but too much of sleep can also cause depression, obesity, back pain and Headache. Sleep right during your leave.
  4. Exercise your body: Its a great time to exercise your body, do work outs, anaerobic training and visit gym and get your body back in shape( too bad i didn't except walking) exercise improve your body and the brain.
  5. Reflecting about the past year and the coming year: Do a throw back of what you've done within the past one year, your weakness and your strength, your awards and queries and plan on how to make things better in the coming year
  6. Think right:  You need to take charge of your thought and feel calm and also be optimistic in your thoughts towards the coming year. Strategically plan ahead
  7. Work on your self: Read during your leaf, develop yourself at this time, submit your CV for a more challenging task and learn something different.
  8. Go on Outings: Visit places such as shopping malls, recreation center, cinema, parks and resort centers. Go to places you won't go during work hour and feel the groove.
  9. Visit friends and families: Don't leave your friends and family out, visit them and explore your leave together. I visited and had family member at my place.
  10. Serve God: There's no better time to observe your personal time, go to worship centers i.e church and mosque, be punctual and serve whole heartedly.
Kindly add to the list if you have any other thing that i left out.

#SAVEMAYOWA

Mayowa-Ahmed
The recent successful campaign for treatment funds to assist Mayowa, a young lady currently battling Ovarian Cancer at LUTH that saw people intervene in such an overwhelming way is far beyond my imagination. I still find it totally amazing that such an  amount was raised within 2 days of Solicitation even with the present economic challenges being faced by everyone. I'm deeply touched, wowed, amazed...as in just name it! One would think with the recent happening being circulated by the media portraying us as in humane and heartless is indeed true about us. Thank you Nigerians for showing that love humanity needs to survive.

Then came the shocking revelations by people claiming the whole thing was a scam, that she was suppose to travel to Atlanta not Abu Dhabi, the actress visiting with the police, the supposed video done by the critically ill lady's family to refute the claim and  also pictures showing her receiving prayers in preparation for her travel to Abu Dhabi e.t.c.
First, this wouldn't have been in the media if there wasn't any problem, and there are picture evidences that shows the lady is actually sick. To me it couldn't have been a scam; I think the only problem is that there was no accurate communication between the family, the actress and the public.
So many people said why do they have to ask for public fund when they had been told she wouldn't make it but I honestly do not see anything wrong in that, she's still alive and no sane person will leave a family member to die even when the hope of survival is 0.001%. Also why should they believe the doctors that couldn't even see the cancer until it got to stage IV, its just an emotional decision that had to be taken for a loved one.
On the part of the media and all donors, it is also expected of us to want accountability for the money being donated owing to how despicable and manipulative some humans can be, but our demand for accountability should also put into cognizance the sensitive nature of the issue on ground.
In fact my main concern is those hospital that kept tossing her from one end to another and couldn't even diagnose shit until it became so worse OMG! I read that Ovarian cancer is not always detected at the early stage but are there no symptoms and signs to know of the situation? Treating Ulcer instead of cancer is so..so weird. And I just can't fathom that our doctors are still not able to get it right on medical diagnosis of Ovarian cancer.
And why do we always have to travel out to treat these deadly diseases, what is wrong with our health system, what will happen to those that couldn't afford to travel out of this country, what is our government doing to make things better and affordable for the masses.

Deductions that could have prevented all these from playing out includes
  1. Communication which is very important when dealing with others (Her family should take responsibility for this)
  2. Transparency is a must to be applied when dealing with public funds (Her family still failed somehow in transparency i.e when did Atlanta in the USA become Abu Dhabi in the UAE )
  3. Our Reactions should always come only after a critical reasoning and re-reasoning (I think the Actress got it wrong here)
  4. Fact finding Journalism  there has to be enough evidence and facts before breaking a news to the media so as not to cause confusion. Remember the media is the most powerful 21st century weapon the people have got. (LIB and bloggers alike)
My heart continues to go out to you MAYOWA and I pray the lord will give you healing and make you stand on your feet once again. As for we all, may we not experience what she's experiencing right now and may we not see pains that would be far beyond us.

Have a Blessed Friday.

Dealing With a Step Mum

STMThe wife of one's father by a later marriage is simply the Step Mum(freedictionary). Most time people perceive them as gold diggers, cruel, wicked but some are also Nice, Good and Loving. Some view them as an opportunist especially when the husband is rich but the truth is its non of your business.
To the children with Step mum, i'm sorry to put it this way but its not in your place to fight your step mum. Don't take over your mother's battle, the problem is of your dad and mum,let them settle and figure it out between themselves.
Stand by your mum and console her when she's down, of course its not easy to share one's husband especially when you live together, be by her, pray for and with her, encourage her and make her happy.
If you must fight your step mum be ready to fight your dad too. Remember it takes two to tangle, your father and her came together mutually. Don't create enmity for yourself where there's none.
Don't see them as a threat, after all you will go your way in the future and leave them in the house.
They should not determine your peace in your fathers house, do things that makes you happy. Don't show them how pained you are because you will only let them make you more pained, when you are not okay with their actions.constructively tell them and you don't have to be arrogant.
Not all of them are wicked, not all of them are witch, not all of them are problematic. You live and let them live, give them their own space. It's your fathers house and also their Husband's house
Its never too late to make peace with your step mum, give them a benefit of doubt still.just imagine the pains and troubles you've made and think of the difference it had made, absolutely none or few.
I'm not saying there are no wicked step mom but you can play your own part well, Stay calm and determine your own peace in your own father's house.
Please share your opinion on this issue in the comment section.

IBADAN BUS(DANFO)

ibadan danfo.jpg
Look at the sitting arrangement
I'm officially omo Ibadan (By marriage). One of the means of transportation there is Bus. Long bus,Taxi(Micra) Tricycle, Bike and bus are the form of public transport used in Ibadan. They are painted in white with a twin blue strips.
IMG_20160705_071211_1.jpgThese buses are one of its kind, the outer part of most is like the one used during the world war, the inside is worse because the seats are nothing to write home about, God bless your soul and sit beside the engine, your legs will possibly feel the pain and the heat. Pray rain doesn't fall because the chance that you will be wet is high especially if you are sitted beside the window and door.
IMG_20160705_071211.jpg
Don't board when its raining
Usually, 4 people sits on the seat while the conductor sit on the engine making it tight for the passengers to stretch their legs and also the seats are always to tight. You have to alternate between resting and stretching your back.
The conductors are not as impertinent as those in Lagos, they have little or no education with their drivers so don't expect any good grammar from them.
Exif_JPEG_420
The most interesting part is when they are climbing bumps or hills, OMG! it just move to one side as though its going to fall/pour. There engines works better than they look in most cases. They hardly shout/talk/abuse/curse when they are been hit from the back, all they do is to keep moving.
IMG_20160705_071606_1.jpgThey've done a lot of welding on it, its save you don't board them when you are in your Christmas/ Party dress.
The good side of it is that it's cheaper than any other form of transportation there. However, there are few neat ones too, you might be lucky to board them.

My experience in Idumota

overpopulation
Idumota is synonymous with Crowd

Went to this popular market called IDUMOTA in Lagos Island this saturday, it started as a bright new day but the ending was chaotic.

IMG_20160723_180610.jpg
don't know the ordeal i was still going to face, was feeling cool here

We bought a lot of things and we are almost through when the rain started, we bought an overall nylon because you can't use the umbrella with the crowd, the load you carried might also not allow you and also the space in between the shops are not large. we were just buying breakable plates when the rain got intense and within 10 minutes the canal close to the shop is full.

IMG_20160723_180610_1.jpg
see our load beside her and we've not even finished buying then
we proceeded to buy the kitchen gadgets and before we blinked everywhere was full of water, the Alabaru (load carrier) was able to carry the plates and we secured a place to drop the goods then went back to carry the other 2 but it was another story, the water had passed my knee, we could barely see d floor because the water is dirty and its getting late, the worst part of it is you have to climb planks that was thrown into the water so you don't fall into the gutter, once you fall into the gutter if you are not lucky its straight to the canal or somewhere else(in short that's death) i was literally floating on the water then holding the poles so as not to sink.

I couldn't just move again because i was scared so i just kept shouting. The Alabaru was able to get to the shop where we had our mopping stick and brushes but i couldn't (The guy had locked our load in the shop because he had to run for his life too). After waiting for like 20min without her in sight, i left to call the other person we went together but i had to look for another road because i just can't go through the first way we came in with( the joy of it is there are so many entrance into the place) before we came back together the lady had carried the other load with goods close to #100,000(285$) i was in shock, we went back to where we dropped the first load but she wasn't there, paced up and down inside the water back and forth twice before we saw her, she was also looking for us.
At last, we saw her and the load was intact, i couldn't thank God enough. We got back to where we kept the other item and the area boys wanted to collect money again(chaii, nothing comes for free in lagos) at last we boarded a cab and went home,we got home 9:30pm.
IMG_20160723_205518_1.jpg
my tired self with a red eyes when we got home
It was such a stressful and bad day for us.
Do not go to that market when its raining, you will not find it funny with the muddy and dirty water that's all over the place
*couldn't take pictures before my phone will fall in the water(smiles)

A New Lasgidi

Akinwunmi-Ambode.jpg
I'm actually not a fan of him but to be sincere i can see his good works. The best of it is the Iyana oworo park, oh my God! it has saved life, i mean the getting home late is gone, stress is reduced and what more............. please insert the rest in the comment section.
DSC0169.jpg
The Iyana oworo new park
If you are in Lagos and you know Third mainland bridge then you will know what i'm talking about. That bridge can be so tight, as in very terrible traffic. I can remember staying on that bridge for 2 hours with intense heat.
519239546.jpg
3rd mainland bridge traffic
So recently i went to Redemption camp  July Holyghost Service , if you've been there or you've been hooked in the traffic or probably on the road before i'm sure you can attest to the traffic on that road. There was a day i left my office 5pm and i couldn't make it to camp until 12am, the traffic is usually crazy that you might ask yourself why you didn't just sit at home and watch it via Dove Tv or Online.
Lagos-Ibadan-expressway.jpg
This is what it use to be
But on this particular day, infact, there were three programs along the road (Holyghost service, Prayer camp, Nasfat)i left work 5pm and got to camp 8pm (twas marvelous) this has never happened(to the best of my knowledge) Iyana oworo-Alapere-Berger-Mawa-Camp was just free. Every bus stop has FRSC, LASTMA, Police officers making sure the buses were not parked on the road.It was an unbelievable experience

My New Friend

He came and in their usual habit touched me, I shouted at him not to touch me again, the more angrier i became the more persistent he turned, then I was forced to make friend with him. Here's our conversation
Me: what's your name
He: Ibrahim
Me: Where's your mummy
He: Niger republic
Me: Where do you live
He: Pointed towards the bridge
Me: What do you want
He: Biscuit, gala,apple,pure water
His request got me laughing, he wants virtually all that was hawked.
He must have trusted me, he dropped his #10 with me to go hustle for another, he came again to drop it,another #50 and he was giving me, I added my own #50 and handed it over to him and he smiled wide.
He went and came back to say hello, I asked if he has eaten and he said no, I have food with me so I told him to go bring plate, confused and was looking at me before he gathered courage to ask how come I have food in my bag,he requested to see it and someone came to his rescue to give him a plastic bag for d food,he was glad and kept jumping.
After sometime, another girl came with him and in a short while we became friends too, seeing my phone she asked if I was snapping her and said I can snap her, then the photo shooting began, below is their pictures.

Ibrahim is a cool and friendly guy, I wish he can just go to school but he was obviously not interested.
Have you met any friendly beggar before, share ur experience with me in the comment box.

Dealing with Troublemakers

atmksRecently something happened which brought my memory back to my secondary school days about troublemakers especially with a particular girl in mind.
A person who causes difficulties, distress, worry, etc., for others, especially one who does so habitually as a matter of malice is a troublemaker. Infact they don't care who you know until they are faced with punishments.
They are born to foster rifts, they just believe there's nothing you can do to them, they are out there just to frustrate you. They make you angry and pull words out of your mouth, they have revised response to everything you say.
Stay clear of them because most times they have a negative view of you and are only looking for your actions and words to trigger it out of them.
tmk
How to identify troublemakers
  • they gossip
  • they harass
  • they seek attentions
  • they complain a lot
  • they are know it all
  • they have actions, it speaks better than their voices
What to do when you are with troublemakers
  • Know that they are troublemakers
  • Stay clear of having problem with them
  • fill your heart with positivity even towards them
  • ask for the help of the holy spirit
  • Exercise patience with them
  • You can talk it over with them especially if you are close
Remain trouble free.
Share your experience with a troublemaker, how do we deal with them or are you one?

CANDYCRUSH AND ADDICTION

candy-crush-saga-level-683
Before I start this article I’m on Level 683!!! Yippee, make some noise in the house jor, you sure know its not easy to get to this level naw, I’m a pro and an addict till I receive some sense. I even know how to do time cheat, uhmm its not an easy something then.
80% of the players are addict especially in the first few days and weeks. I was addicted to the point that I wake up to play candy crush and I sleep playing it. One of my boss then said “Candy crush has almost taken her Jesus” that’s so true because someone will say how,  the time she’s suppose to pray she’s still on candy crush, studying the bible is a struggle because of it.
download
Candy crush is a game you will see people play during church service, Yes cause I’ve been guilty of this before (may heaven forgive me). In public transport you will see someone play it, market place, on the bike etc.
Only if we can use all these time for something more productive, candy crush has taken some people’s family time, the wife is struggling on a level, the husband is on the net if not candy crush  also.
candy crush
HOW TO BREAK FREE
  • Know that you are addicted already
  • Know that it’s just a game that doesn’t have an end. I’ve seen someone that has passed level 1000 and she’s still moving on. You might even get tired and delete it later, why waste this precious times being addicted
  • Get something doing: blogging has helped me reduce the time I spend on game, I think more on what to publish and how put them coordinated
  • Set your priority straight: I use to play it during work hour and set my duty aside, that is not a good sign, It should be for our enjoyment and to keep us company but not to deprive
  • Discipline yourself: You can if you discipline yourself, I did and now I can forget it still exist on my phone for days
  • Set a time limit: Give yourself a condition to when to play it, though it’s interesting and not easy to easy to stop especially when you are progressing well but you can stop.
